DESCRIPTION:December 23rd  @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm \nHarrington Rural Fire Brigade Santa Run Monday 23rd December 2024.\nThe Bridgade’s Annual Santa run will commence at approximately 5pm-5;30pm at Crowdy Head\, then proceed to Harrington. Santa and his ‘Firies’ will take the following route: \nCrowdy Head – The firetruck with Santa abroad will travel around Pacific Drive into Geoffrey and Deborah Streets. \nHarrington – The truck will recommence near the Discovery Caravan Park on Crowdy Street\, past Pilot Hill along Beach Street\, turn left onto Harbour Boulevard\, right onto Electra Parade. Continuing along Electra Parade right onto Baruah Parade\, right onto Josephine Boulevard\, left onto Harrington Road\, left onto Lazzarini Drive\, left onto Echo Drive and finish at the intersection of Echo and Pretoria Parade. \nThe Brigade cannot guarantee times at intersections along the route. The Brigade may also be busy or called out to incidents during the time of the Santa run\, depending on fire activity at the time. \nOn behalf of the officers and members of the Brigade we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.

DESCRIPTION:Harrington Festival proudly presents prize winning historical film Coast Town. Featuring Clarry Towers\, Dot Fields\, Jack Ericson\, the Crowdy boys and many others. \nCoast Town is a prize- winning film made in 1939\, showcasing life in Harrington and Crowdy Head using local talent. It was praised by the judges for its unpretentiousness and beautiful photography. \nCoast Town won the first National competition run by the Australian Amateur Cinema Society for films referencing Australian life. Forms are available from the Harrington Post Office or can be accessed here.\n\nAPPLICATIONS CLOSE: FRIDAY 14 NOVEMBER\, 2025\n\nDownload Nomination Form\n\n\nThe Citizen of the Year Awards are presented annually on Australia Day\, and recognise local citizens and community organisations who have made noteworthy contributions to our community during the current year\, and/or given outstanding community service over a number of years. The recipients of the awards are role models for everyone\, inspiring us through their achievements and contributing to the advancement and well-being of our community. \nThe Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association ensures the awards are delivered in an informed\, unbiased\, honourable and professional manner. \nCategories \nEligibility\nTo be eligible\, a nominee must be an active participant within the Harrington\, Crowdy Head or Coopernook communities. \nCitizen of the Year\nThe nominee is someone who has demonstrated outstanding contributions\, achievements and leadership. Their selfless commitment and involvement in activities promotes the welfare and well-being of our community. \nYouth of the Year (12 – 18 years)\nThe nominee\, who is at least 12 years old and no more than 18 years old on January 26\, has demonstrated outstanding citizenship. \nJunior of the Year (under 12 years)\nThe nominee\, who is under 12 years old on January 26\, has demonstrated outstanding citizenship. \nVolunteer of the Year\nThe nominee has delivered outstanding volunteer work for an event or cause in the community. \nVolunteer Group or Community Organisation of the Year\nThe group or organisation has delivered outstanding work for an event or cause in the community. \nSports Person of the Year\nThe nominee is someone who has accomplished outstanding results either on or off “the field”\, locally or at higher levels of participation. \nYouth Sports Person of the Year (12 – 18 years)\nThe nominee is someone who has accomplished outstanding results and who is at least 12 years old and no more than 18 years old on January 26. \nJunior Sports Person of the Year (under 12 years)\nThe nominee is someone who has achieved outstanding results and is under 12 years old as of January 26. \n\nNomination Procedure\nAll nominations must be on the nomination form.
