DESCRIPTION:The John Oxley Bicentenary Celebrations are Proudly brought to you by Harrington Lions Club\, Harrington Crowdy Head Chamber of Commerce and Harrington Evening VIEW Club. To mark the bicentenary of Oxley’s arrival here and crossing of the ‘lake’ there are a number of not to be missed events happening over 3 days. \nSaturday 20th October. \n8.00am – FLAG RAISING CEREMONY\nPilot Hill – High St\, Harrington\nON Saturday morning\, spectators can gather on Pilot Hill before 8am to see the pipe bands and cadets from the army and air force march to the flagstaff. The town crier will call the gathering to order and the Lions members will raise the flags. \n9.30am – STREET PARADE\nThe street parade will commence at the  Harrington Crowdy Marine Rescue base and travelling along Beach Street to the John Oxley Memorial (alongside Club Harrington). Featuring in the parade will be a town crier\, a mount police trooper in period dress\, members of the Light Horse Brigade\, pipe and drum bands\, floats\, school children\, old cars and motorbikes\, community organisations and services. \n* Beach Street will be closed to traffic while the parade is taking place and detours will be in place. \n11.00am  – DEDICATION CEREMONY\nJohn Oxley Memorial – Beach St\, Harrington.\nUnveiling two new information boards detailing the John Oxley Exploration Journey.  \n11.30am – ENACTMENT  \nJohn Oxley Memorial – Beach St\, Harrington.\nHarrington Public School Students will present an enactment of the Oxley expedition’s river crossing.  \n12.00pm – LIONS BARBECUE LUNCH\nJohn Oxley Memorial –  Beach St\, Harrington.\nParade participants and spectators can refuel at the Lions BBQ and for stalls. On display will also be the cars and bikes from the parade.

SUMMARY:Drag-Ens Hot Rod Club - Rattletrap 2.0
DESCRIPTION:Following on from a successful 2017 debut\, the Drag-Ens Hot Rod Club will host Rattletrap 2.0 on Saturday\, May 12 at Crowdy Head Beach. \nThe classic hot rods\, vintage race cars and bikes have been hand selected from numerous applicants\, maintaining a historical element to the meet\, right down to flag starts and period dress. Running side by side on the sand on a small section of beach directly in front of the Crowdy Head Surf Life Saving Club\, the action and the atmosphere is easily enjoyed from the sand\, the club or the grassy knoll. The event will include bracket sprints\, grudge matches and an Exhibition Class for unique or historical vehicles. All vehicles must be manufactured on or before 1941 or a purpose built Hot Rod rebuilt in the style of a traditional hot rod\, custom or vintage race car. \nThe racing will commence from 9.30am and go for approximately 4 hour with non stop action the entire time. Dictated by the outgoing and incoming tides\, times cannot be set in stone for each race\, with Sunday reserved as a rain date. DESCRIPTION:The Annual Harrington Festival takes place during the month of January with the majority of events on the 1st. The family friendly event is free and all activities take place on the Harrington foreshore (Beach Street\, Harrington) overlooking the stunning breakwall. \nKick off the New Year with Markets from 8am\, Food Stalls\, Carnival Rides and Side Show from 3pm. Live Music from Mick Hart Experience from 5pm. \nTo top off the day\, stay for the John Gollan fireworks display at 9pm from the Harrington Breakwall. Yes the fireworks are on the night of the 1st! And has be known to be one of the best displays on the Mid North Coast. \n\nBring the family along and make a day of it.

SUMMARY:Harrington Rural Fire Brigade Santa Run
DESCRIPTION:The Brigade’s annual Santa run will commence at approximately 5.15 – 5.30pm at Crowdy Head\, then proceed to Harrington. \nSanta and his ‘Firies’ will take the following route: – \nCROWDY HEAD – The Firetruck with Santa aboard will travel around Pacific Drive into Geoffrey & Deborah streets. \nHARRINGTON – The truck will recommence the Santa Run near the Big 4 Caravan Park on Crowdy Street\, travel past Pilot Hill onto Beach Street\, turn left onto Harbour Boulevard and then right into Electra Parade. \nSanta will continue along Electra Parade\, turn right onto Baruah Parade\, then right onto Josephine Boulevard\, left onto Harrington Road\, left onto Lazzarini Drive\, then left onto Echo Drive finishing at the intersection of Echo Drive and Pretoria Parade. \nThe Brigade cannot guarantee times at intersections along the route. The Brigade may also be busy or called out to incidents during the time of the Santa run depending on fire activity at the time. \nOn behalf of the officers and members of the Harrington Rural Fire Brigade we would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year.
