2026 HARRINGTON FESTIVAL & FIREWORKS

This year’s festival is packed with everything we love about Harrington: long days by the water, family-friendly entertainment, live music, great food, markets, and of course… our iconic fireworks over the breakwall on January 1st!

From Boxing Day right through to 7th January, enjoy a huge lineup of activities including the Festival Fishing Competition, sideshows and carnival rides, food trucks, live music, markets, magic shows, face painting, golf days, exhibitions, and more. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the holidays, something is happening every single day.

Cast a line and reel in the summer fun! As part of the Harrington Festival, the annual Fishing Competition is back — bigger, better, and loaded with prizes. Running from 12:01am on Boxing Day until 7 January, this is your chance to chase bragging rights, win cash, and score top-quality fishing gear.

Across six categories — Bream, Whiting, Flathead, Tailor, Snapper, and Gamefish — anglers of all ages can compete for:

TWELVE cash prizes of $100, awarded to the Longest Senior and Longest Junior fish in each category.
Seven bonus product prize packs valued at $150 each, drawn randomly from remaining entries.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a junior just getting started, everyone has a chance to win!
