Categories
Wildlife
Images of any wildlife / marine life in the Harrington / Crowdy Head / Coopernook area.
Seascape
This category is specific to the Harrington / Crowdy Head / Coopernook area and allows you to explore the differing seascape features around the area.
Landscape
Photography experience of the landscape in the Harrington / Crowdy Head / Coopernook area.
Junior
This category is open to people aged 15 years and under (under 15 years as of the 31st July).
The Junior section has Wildlife, Seascape and Landscape Categories. Submissions cannot be made by persons 15 years and under in the Adult section.
Adult
The Adult section offers Wildlife, Seascape and Landscape Categories.
Prizes
Each adult category awards: 1st Prize $100, 2nd Prize $50;
Junior category awards: 1st Prize $75, 2nd Prize $50 plus a $25 Encouragement Award.
A Major Prize of $200 is awarded to the overall winner – chosen from the adult categories only. This is an acquisition prize – meaning that the winning photo will become the property of the sponsors of the competition and the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association Incorporated for promotional purposes. The photographer retains copyright over the image.

Terms & Conditions
- How to Enter
- Participants must upload their photo directly to the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association Facebook page within the competition period – i.e. 1 July 2025-to-31 July 2025).
- Entries must include the following details in the caption:
- Photographer’s name
- Age category (Under 15 / Adult)
- Competition category (Landscape / Waterscape / Wildlife)
- Location where the photo was taken
- Date the photo was taken
- Eligibility
- Entry is open to amateur photographers only. Professional photographers and individuals who derive or have ever derived income from photography are not eligible and will be immediately disqualified without notice to them.
- Photos must be taken in Harrington, Crowdy Head or Coopernook during the competition period – i.e. from 1 July 2025-to-31 July 2025.
- Participants under 15 years of age must have parental or guardian consent to enter, which must be evidenced by the participant in anyway the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association deem necessary.
- Any photos uploaded after the competition period has expired or which do not include the required information will be automatically disqualified, at the sole discretion of the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association.
- Entry Guidelines
- Photos must be original and taken by the person entering the competition.
- Photos cannot be associated with any other competition in the competition area or otherwise.
- Each person may submit one photo per category within the competition period.
- Entries may be colour or black and white.
- Basic editing is allowed, but overly manipulated images may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association and/or judging panel.
- Judging and Prizes
- The judging panel will be nominated by the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association.
- Judging will be based on any criteria the judging panel deem appropriate – including, without limitation, creativity, originality, and relevance to the chosen category.
- Winners will be announced on the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association Facebook page.
- The decision of the judging panel is final and not subject to any form of review.
- Neither the judging panel nor the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association will enter into any correspondence or discussion about the judging process with participants or others.
- Usage Rights
- By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
- By entering the competition, participants grant the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association and the major sponsors an irrevocable licence to use, share, and display submitted photographs (with attribution) for promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and printed materials.
- Copyright remains with the photographer.
- Conduct
- Entries must not contain offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content. The Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association reserve the right to remove any such entry, at its sole discretion.
- Any participant found breaching these terms and conditions may be disqualified, at the sole discretion of the Harrington and Surrounds Business and Community Association.
- General
- The organisers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions, without notice, or cancel the competition at any time for any reason.
